Inspiration for the new house

Plastbyggt, lokalt och superduktiga, love it!

You might wonder how it’s going with the new house in Sweden. To once again plan a big project with the Atlantic in between, is not to recommend… but I’m sure it will be amazing once it’s done! Here comes some inspo pics.

The kitchen. The most fun to plan I think. Love the one on the picture above. We have hired Falerumkök again (same company that did our kitchen in the Brokind house). Custom made, local and they are awesome, love it! The kitchen plan is almost complete, I have not choose color yet, but I’m thinking of using a darker grey and a greige color. Will have some open shelfs and a big kitchen island. I think we might add a window like on the picture, but in black.

From our Brokind house. We’ll have almost the same custom made shelf in the new house, oh yeah! And I just talked to the guy who made our iron doors. He’s hired again for some new projects.

He’s gonna make a industriell wall with double doors, that we’ll install between the living room and the bigger hallway. He’s probably making the kitchen window too, plus a frame to a bathroom vanity.

Love wall panels and wainscoting. I was not a big fan of that when I moved to The States thirteen years ago. But you can and are allowed to change your mind. Now I love it and want that on a few walls!

Base board thoughts

How amazing ↑ I really like some color on the base boards, but I think I will choose white for all trim in the new house in Sweden. I’m afraid it will look too dark otherwise. Well, that decision can wait till spring! But the electrician needs to know all base board and trim sizes right now so he knows where to install all outlets and light switches. Everything goes hand in hand!

But I do know that I want high base boards. And I will use the ‘fake’ technique you see in the picture above. So smart!

Outdoor shower

Photo taken at The Finest in Mexico

I think this pretty outdoor shower have made it to my blog before :) Anyhow, I think a black outdoor shower would look good by the future pool area in Sweden! Please let me know if you have seen one that I might like!

I’m going thru a really tough week. Good in many ways, but really hard and emotional. Whenever I have time and energy I’ll tell you more about it.

Right now I’m resting the brain and think about interior design. That’s therapy for me!!

Stunning home for sale

800 Cranbrook Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

OMG. This big house is just amazing!! Some of you might already seen some videos on my Instagram @cissifranzen, under My stories. Hurry up to watch it before it disappears!

Last night I went to the open house, only to get amazed and inspired. It’s Arya Afrakhteh, owner of Brandywine Construction, lastest master piece. Same builder that built our American home, love him!!

Just look at this kitchen. Stunning!!

And the office/library might be my favorite room along with the kitchen. Love everything about it… the herringbone floor, the ceiling and all the beautiful built-ins. Perfection if you ask me!

If you want a super duper big house in Bloomfield Hills (8000 sqf /750 kvm plus the basement), and you have a super duper big wallet – asking price is $6 million (!!!) – go ahead and put an offer!

The pictures above is from Brandywine’s website. And here comes two from my camera :)

After the showing we went to dinner and drinks at Ronin in Royal Oak. Design, food and drinks – A night right up my alley :)

The wall

I’m in love with this wall! They also serve magical sweet potato fries here. Don’t miss to visit Four Season in Jackson Hole, if you’ll be there!

Trying to get my energy back. I feel I need to do something productive, I think I’ll go over the kids closets while listening to a podcast. ‘Livet på Läktaren’, with Maja and Sanna is a favorite at the moment. They are living with soccer players, very entertaining to listen to and lots of things I can relate to, hehe. They are about thirteen years younger than me and its bringing back memories from when we first moved over to Detroit!

Later tonight we’ll have some friends over for dinner, perfect with some support and love! I’m planning to cook Chicken Thai Curry, nom nom.

Mood board Eddie-Bo’s room

Untitled design-2

My mood board for Eddie-Bo’s new bedroom!

I’m keeping the big, blue rug from Restoration Hardware, but will paint the room in a grey/green color.
From Land of Nod – bed, desk +desk shelf, the E and penholder. From Ikea – shelf, pillows and desk chair. From Union -trash bin and alarm clock.

I feel all these things work for a teenager too, plus it’s easy to add any accent color to this calm grey/blue/green palate, if you would like to.

I’m also planning to add a few new lights and some sport things. Of course :) Can’t believe he’s turning 7 years old in a few weeks. SEVEN! And he wants his own alarm clock, stop growing kid ♥

I’m so excited to get this room done! I hope I get the desk and bed next week. Waiting is not my thing. At all.

Sofa thoughts

On my shopping list – new sofa for our Swedish home. Here are my three favorites at the moment:

1. From Slettvoll, just lovely!
2. A blue velvet dream from Sweef.

3. Amazing green leather, also from Sweef.

Any of these would look so good in our living room. What do you think?!

So dreamy…

Pictures// Slettvoll

If we someday will own a vacation house where we could ski, this is exactly how I would picture that house… so beautiful!! My jaw dropped when I took a look at Slettvoll’s website the other day. I feel it’s time to plan a ski trip!

Right now I’m sitting in front of the fireplace and listening to Swedish Sara Dawn Finer – Winterland. A cd (yes!) that I got from my dad many years ago. It’s so peaceful.

Santa baby…

On my wish list Xmas 2017 – Flos Staccia table light… so dreamy! I think it would look amazing on the built in side table in our Swedish house ↓

An update on this house renovation will come tomorrow!

On my mind

I can’t stop thinking of this lovely green wing chair!! It was love at the first sight when we met in Sweden about two months ago… $229/2495 Sek at Ikea! I need to take a trip there next week. I have the same model in dark blue, a color they don’t make anymore and I have always regret that I just bought one of them that day…

And now when I looked online, I saw it comes in brown leather too, so cool! (It comes in even more colors).

A Friday bargain tip from me.

Happy weekend peeps!! Do you have any fun plans? We do for sure :) We will spend our Saturday in Ohio at a Monster Jam show, and the boys are beyond excited!!
