The family room in my renovation house is so cozy, my favorite room except for the kitchen. Lots of new fresh paint, the floors (like everywhere) got sandblasted and stained and new black hardware. I also got rid of the wood blinds to get a more modern look and also to let the light in!
Wall color// SW7669 I see on the pictures the grey looks a little green tone, but it’s not. All white// Bright white. The chimney is painted in bright white as well, but with some special paint made for fireplaces.
I liked their custom made rug, I decided to keep that one!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Vanity// Fairmont Acacia Faucet// Grohe (both from Advanced Plumbing) Mirror// Unison Towel// Missoni Floor tile// Home Depot Walls and trim// Bright White Light Bulb// Ikea Wall light// hmm some online store, but two other light I ordered came with two dents plus a very long delivery time, so I don’t want to recommend that company anyway!
Soap// Lothantique (I buy them at Mills) Old coffee cup// Anthropology -A perfect fit for the little cactus!
Mini plate// West Elm
And this was the powder room before the renovation:
I got some bad news Sunday morning, my buyer pulled the offer… So the house is back on the market. I thought everything was good and all set, but nope they change their mind. I’m most upset that we missed two Sundays that we could have had open house.
Well I’m sure a new lucky buyer will come soon!
In this area we changed the floor plan. Got rid of a closet to the left, moved the big pipe, moved the door to the toilet and added a laundry room (that you see all the way in there).
Toilet// Toto Mirror// Ikea Walls// SW7669 Summit Gray, and the old retro sink I decided to keep. Dark grey tile from Virginia Tile. All trim// Bright white
Walls// SW7648 Big Chill
I reused some of the old kitchen cabinets for the laundry room. Counter top, knobs, sink and faucet all from Ikea. Walls// same as the bathroom SW Big Chill. Let me know if you want the info about the vinyl floor or carpet.
I don’t miss the green walls and petrol carpet here :)
I need to take more and new pictures of the rest of the house. I don’t know what I did that day (except that i’m blaming the weather and it was dark… hehe, but all pictures are a little blurry… don’t like that!
I just love my old books, that I bought for $20 at my renovation house, the day they had estate sale. Now when I staged the house I brought them back to the very same shelfs. The brass decor star/thing is new from Target. It’s always a good idea to mix new and old things!
Yesterday was so awesome and so much fun with a pool party. Today- office day. A big pile of paper that needed to get organized and bills to pay. Not so awesome and no fun at all!! But at least a great feeling when you are done :)
Now time for The Kardashian’s. Hubby thinks I should watch something more educational than that, hehe! Oh well, I think it’s very entertaining and I can just relax while watching that show, sometimes that’s what you need, right!
Before – The old dining room:
After – A mud hall (grov-ingång):
I found this piece of furniture at West Elm. The baskets are from Home Goods. Pillow and bag, oldies from my house!
Coat & shoe rack and wardrobe// Ikea
We moved the previous door from the kitchen and instead we took some space from the garage to build a new entryway.
The house is finally all done!!
I’m so happy about that, but I’m mad at the weather. I was planning to take photos yesterday, but it was so dark. And today it’s even worse and rainy!! But I did my best.
And this is pictures from before:
The wall is now gone between the kitchen and the old dining room. That made the kitchen much bigger plus I made a mud hall (groventre) instead of keeping the dining room.
More to come!!
The house will be on the market tomorrow!
From my renovation house and the new kitchen! It’s so close to be all done. Can’t wait to get the hood, stove and fridge/freezer installed and to get rid of all mess and dust!!
The tile is up!! My first plan was to do white herringbone (fiskbensmönster), but decided to save some money on that and ended up with this instead, that I also think looks really good!
Cabinets and handles// Ikea Countertop// Zodiac quarts, color London Sky (kvartskomposit) I can really recommend quarts if you are redoing your kitchen. Not sensitive at all, compare to real marble, that stains and scratches so easy.
The details, LOVE!!! Here I splurged some money though ;) These are the pieces I had to wait for so long, but it was worth the wait, I’m so happy with the result. Love costume made pieces!
More pictures to come in a few days when it’s completed!!
Powder room, almost done! The electrician has some more work to do.
The crown molding for the kitchen, along with two other pieces we’ve been waiting for a long time, are finally here. They are spray painted and color matched with the cabinets. That company was cleary not the fastest on the planet… however I’m happy we now can finish the kitchen. Will show you the kitchen later this week.
Love the foyer. It’s almost completed. A little more painting left to do.
Basement carpet and laundry vinyl floor, all done!
I’m reusing some cabinets from the old kitchen in the laundry room to save a few $$. I think it will look really good whenever the walls are painted and the counter top is installed.
My lovely painters, please COME BACK ASAP!!
What color?? First I was thinking white walls, but since I’m selling the house, I think a lighter grey is a safer choice…
The yard is messy again after last week’s storm. Easy to fix! Just a phone call away, haha :)
Time to keep working! I’m planning to stage the house whenever is done, so I need to figure that out.
Kram// Xx Cissi
So this brick is what I painted yesterday! The bright white gives a fresh and clean look. When the room is all done, which is very soon,I will show you some before and after pictures!
I have a crush on the brush :) I’m on my way to finish up my painting I started yesterday, at the renovation house. Stay tuned!
