This is where we have stayed 16 people for six nights. We call it the Mouse House. We caught four mice :) Yesterday we checked in to Viceroy Hotel, to enjoy their outdoor spa and for dinner at the restaurant Toro.
Right now I’m sitting in the car, we just left lovely Aspen and are heading to Denver. Tonight we are going to see the Colorado Avalanche play the San Jose Sharks, and we’ll cheer extra for Erik Karlsson who comes from the same place Landsbro as Johan and his family who is with us. That will be our last stop before we go back to Michigan tomorrow.
I’ve so many more pictures, but the reception is totally useless here in the mountains!
Last Sunday Jana and I went on a quick roadtrip to Cleveland. We left at 2pm and were back already at midnight. We had tickets to see the comedian Celeste Barber. I’ve followed her for a long time on instagram, and she’s hilarious. She posts pics of models and famous people and makes her own copy of that, so funny!
The show was here – at House of Blues.
Lovely trip!
The show made our smiley dimples cramp from laughing. We also love to sing so on the whole way back I was the DJ while Jana was driving and we were singing loud nonstop. My playlist was a lovely mix of old favorites, from Nirvana unplugged, Metallica, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Tracey Chapman, boybands etc :) I woke up Monday with a raspy voice, haha. Lovely trip!
Hej!
Hi! Are you alive? like my dad says sometimes when it goes too far between the phone calls :) The answer is yes! I’ve just been very busy with the kiddos, their activities and the guests.
Late last night we took a road trip to the Niagara Falls. It’s about 4,5h drive from Detroit. We stopped at a hotel on the way and today we got to see the waterfall. Impressive, beautiful and very mighty!!
Now we are back home again and Lage and Regina just cooked vegetarian lasagna. Luxury service!
More pictures from the amazing The Steam Hotel, Västerås Sweden. So inspiring.
That picture wall! The week before I was here I asked my lovely Grandma if she had some old pictures with wood frames I could take. She likes when I come and get stuff. She is a collector and has lots of stuff, so it’s not like a leave her with an empty house :) And I like to mix old and new. I’m thinking of making a wall like this in the dark blue guest room in Sweden.
Fin utsikt över Mälaren.
View over lake Mälaren.
Snyggt badrum. Vill ha en sån duschvägg i mitt nästa badrumsprojekt.
Nice bathroom. Copy paste on that shower wall for my next bathroom project.
My green bags couldn’t be more matchy with the hotel’s robe and slippers. And the floor, love it.
Part of the spa. I will definitely come back to this hotel!
Evening at the pool area at Atlantica Aegean Park.
View from our room.
Homebound- One of my Instastory pics today.
We are now back home after a wonderful, fun and relaxing week in Greece. It was a charter trip with Tui, and I have to say everything was great, easy vacay life. Even though there were lots of activities (the boys loved the soccer, water polo and kids club) it was still a quite place, the people who worked there were great, super impressed by the entrainment team, kids club was awesome, and the food!! Oh my, I miss it already, it was delicious! I did not expect that at all. We flew direct from Norrköping to Rhodes, about 3,5h flight, and Norrköping is only about 45 minutes away from our house and it’s a small airport – means quick and easy!
Le chauffeur Jörgen.
View over Lindos.
And that’s where we spent most of the day.
Lots of people in the afternoon, but it was still not loud or crazy.
After Lindos Jörgen took us to Rhodes town, we passed tons of olive trees and mountain goats.
We walked around in Old Town, very cozy and it’s surrounded by a big stone wall.
We ate ice cream.
And I bought new handmade leather sandals. Good to have a greek with me – helping dealing about the price while I was just smiling :)
Not a single group photo so far, but here is part of the gang.
Smile for dinner time at Medousa, a real greek place where Jörgen and Kirre have been to before. And that was also our last stop before we went back to the hotel.
I can’t get enough of greek food!!
What type of vacation type are you?! At home I’m always very active and have a hard time to just let things be, I’m always on the go, from morning till night. But, on vacations like this I turn into the laziest person on earth, haha. I’m reading a book and only leave the sun chair (even to the point in life that I enjoy the shade :) for lunch, swim, or play with the kids. But they even love to spend a few hours a day at the kids club so for real, I can be lazy :) But today I at least left the sun chair for a bit and took some pictures.
Every time we pass the outdoor gym we need to make a quick work out stop.
We are staying at Atlantica Aegean Park at the island Rhodes and it’s really good. It’s an all inclusive resort with ‘Bamse kids club’ and I’m impressed! The food is delicious and the entertainment team and kids club are amazing! Tonight I went wild and ordered a bottled of Sauvignon Blanc and stayed up late with my brother and Kirre, while hubby and the kiddos went to bed :)
What a day – Good night from a tipsy me, it’s time to get some rest. Tomorrow we have a car booked, even ‘lazy vacation me’ is looking forward to leave the resort for a day and explore the island!
Vacay mode is on! We are in Greece on the island Rhodes and it’s so nice. We are here with my brother Jörgen, Kirre and nephew Melker. Kirre is actually greek, her mom lives in Greece, so I feel I need to learn some greek before the week is over! I have at least been eating delicious gyros, tzatziki and greek salad every day :) So far we’ve been lazy and just enjoying the resort, but we are planning to rent a car so we can explore the island.
Passports, and a new nice computer case from Target.
Hello from Sweden! We made it after some issues… Oh my, for you who have seen my Instastory from Monday knows what happened. All my bragging in my last post about being all done with no stress and that I’ve learned from thirteen years of traveling between The States and Sweden… bla bla bla. But we all know that THE ONLY thing you really need when you travel is valid passport. And nope, we didn’t have that, Oliver’s was EXPIRED by a week, they told us at the airport!! So Johan and Eddie-Bo flew home as planned and Oliver and I ended up staying, I mean we had no choice… and got a new passport done the next day in Downtown Detroit, and we made it back to Sweden arriving Tuesday instead on Monday! Puh…
And then it took me a few days to find my Swedish cellphone… and Johan’s didn’t work… and no internet. But now all that is fixed!
A must see in downtown Detroit!! You will find all these amazing murals in the Eastern Market area. It’s a project called Murals in the Market. Enjoy!
