From our new kitchen

Men åhhh!!!

Oh myyy!! I got this picture sent and it made me so happy!! The second before that I was crying because I came walking and saw when they put up the For Sale sign (this was a week ago). The feelings are all over the place.

The lovely kitchen is from Falerumkök, and the pocket door from Swedoor. It took me awhile to decide the color for the doors, dark grey or white? Now it feels totally natural I choose grey, applaud to me ;)
The kitchen and door are painted with NCS S7000N.

I can’t wait to see the house in the summer, by then almost all done. Normally you might follow your construction closer, so you can follow all the steps. Not the case for us!

Time for us to pack up the car and go to Toronto. Eddie-Bo is playing in a hockey tournament over the weekend!

Kitchen moodboard and plans

köks moodboard

Kicthen// Custom made by Falerumkök. Color Beckers Tjäle and dark grey – S7000N.
Floor// Bjelin (herringbone but this color, fiskben i köket, fast denna färg)
Hood// Aero Fjäråskupan
Faucet// Tapwell
Handles// Beslagdesign (Steel. I gjutjärn!!)
Stainless steel countertop// Custom made Decosteel
Kitchen island countertop// Limestone/ Kalksten

Our new kitchen!! Well, a moodboard at least. It’s a great idea to make moodboards if you are renovating or building. But I’ve to admit I just made mine, long time after I made all the selections. I make my moodboards in my brain :) I’ve copied the cabinet design and color from our laundry room in the Brokind home, but I’ve added some dark grey cabinets as well. Oh it’s gonna be fab. Can’t wait to see it in real life.

The plan is not exactly, but you get an idea of the plan.

Happy weekend

Kitchen from Falerumkök

I keep posting pictures from our Swedish home. Every time I enter this kitchen I feel so good. The room is about 760 sq ft, but I think with the mix of materials, color scheme and the chimney, that it makes it warm and cozy.

It’s Friday and I’m at the moment sitting in my messy American kitchen. Yes, that totally happens, but I don’t like it ;) But it’s time to clean up before Oliver and I will go and cheer for Eddie-Bo – ‘Fun Run’ in school coming up. The weekend is filled with the kiddos activities as usual. It’s so nice being home with them again!

Happy weekend!

More pics from Sweden

From the lovely kitchen in Sweden. I really like this piece, whatever we would call it. I choose to do the glass kind of narrow, so you don’t see everything behind the cabinets too much. A decision I’m extra happy with. That’s the beauty of custom made, that you can be in charge of all the details. You can see the wine cooler, and to the left we have an extra fridge for other beverages. It’s really useful since we often have full house and a fridge full of food!

Master bathroom part 2

Hello from Birmingham, our town 30 min outside Detroit, Usa. It feels good to be back and I’m looking forward to routines again. I have none of that during the summer, same every year, hehe. But here comes more pictures from our master bathroom in Sweden as promised!

These lovely faucets are from Brizo, that I bought in the Usa… Not to recommend AT ALL. Shame on me for shipping those overseas plus it was a pricey custom tax (alltså tullavgift)… but sometimes you loose your sense when you fall in love :)

I’ll repeat some info:
Cabinets are custom made//Falerumkök and same with the double sink//BetongDesign   Handles//Buster and Punch.

LOVE all that. But I think I’ll change the lights (from Ifö) I used the same ones in another bathroom and it turned out perfect, but I think they are too small for this big mirror. Also, not super happy with the color choice, too minty, I might paint that to a beige color to match the raw concrete walls in the bedroom. But I’ll wait till I have new lights, that might change the tone for the better. These are actually the only things in the whole house I’m not 100% happy with. And I think thats ok, since I’ve planned most of the house from Usa :)

Hello double showers. The shower heads are from// Tapwell. I decided to use same tile that looks like wood, on the floor and the shower wall. From Megakakel i Linköping. Instead of a regular drain I used -Unidrain. How nice?!

The steps go up to our bedroom. Not sure if you can see, but instead of a door we used a frosted sliding door (that also matches the shower door) from Rapps glas. So either you see the steps or the toilet. That was a lot of info, too much?!! Hope you’ll like it!

Also peeps. I think I will start writing in Swedish too?! So both in Swedish and English. What do you think?

Happy Friday!!!!

Morning coffee

Hello from Sweden in the middle of the night #jetlagged! My plan was to post this in the morning, but I’ve been so busy with the kids, getting installed, a building meeting, friends and family that came, wrapping gifts etc. So nice to be here though and the flight went perfect. I’m so proud of the boys, that are so used to travel, but still, you never know!

Well it’s now 1am and time to make an attempt to fall asleep (6h time different if someone wonders).

Good night!

Our new laundry room

My last days in Sweden was really busy and I realized on the airplane that I forgot to take photos of our new laundry room. Since Johan was still there, I hired him to do the job!

He didn’t clean and made it perfect blog friendly though ;) Lots of building dust and dirt, and this was before the electrician was there to do his job. But anyway I’m so happy about the result!! Shelfs, a rod and lights are still left to install.

Beautiful custom cabinets – Falerumkök (Painted in Beckers Tjäle) Handels- Buster and punch (same as in the kitchen) Faucet – Tapwell  Tile – from Megakakel Linköping (klinker alltså, fast det ser ut som trä).

I’m addicted to Game of Thrones. Time for two (maybe three) more episodes before bedtime!

Madly in love

Hello!! I’m sitting here in our new kitchen and I’m so in love. I couldn’t be more happy about the result. There is still some things that need to get fixed, a few handles are missing, a beam in the ceiling needs to get stained, and something is wrong with the new fridge… so right now we are having an old and ugly temporary one (not seen in the pictures, and it’s not blog friendly at all, haha).

We’ve been having friends over for the few last days, so we’ve been using and enjoying the kitchen a lot!
