There is so much I love about our American home. This marble fireplace is one of my favorites. It’s a real statement piece in our master suite, that divides the sitting area from the bedroom area. I also love how it matches the marble we have in our master bathroom, kitchen and butlers pantry. It puts it together if you know what I mean!
Oh my. I’m so tired. Last night was great and it got pretty late. And today has been a busy day with hockey and skiing. I took the boys all by myself skiing, just about 40 minutes away from home. Puh, lots of work but we had so much fun. No meltdowns, high five! They did great and I’m so proud of them. You never know, next time might be different :)
Now→ bed and an episode of Vikings!
From our Swedish home! I love this area with the original fireplace even though it went thru a big facelift and we got great storage with doors and handles that match the kitchen. And very special to me -my grandma’s chair that I got reupholstered (omklädd).
Now over to before:
Hard to see in the picture but the ceiling was very low. Did I keep anything? Yes I did! The tile floor and the inside of the fireplace.
Work in progress.
Details -Brass candle holder and candles from HilkeInDesign and vase from Iems in Jönköping.
I’m so happy we could open up the ceiling, expose the beam (that now is stained/betsad) and add spotlights!
Hope you like to see some before and after pics!
Cozy time in front of the fireplace with a magazine and a glass of red wine, perfect after today’s activities. Saturday means hockey and flag football for us. And today it was cold outside, brr. While I’m heating up here the boys are heating up in the sauna!
My wine and nails, so matchy! I finally started to like red wine again after 7 years. After I had Eddie-Bo my wine taste changed, but I’m happy about being back :) I feel the fall and red wine is a good combo!
Tonight I’m heading downtown for a girls dinner, saying good bye to Kecia that is moving to Pittsburgh. Her boyfriend got traded, one of the downside to the hockey life. But I’m sure we’ll have a great night!
When I’m not at concerts, which is pretty often (three the last three weeks!), I’m mostly ending my evenings right here in our master suite, in front of the fireplace and lighted candles. Now it’s time for me to watch Wahlgrens Värld, a Swedish reality show that I love!
Hello Monday and a new exciting week!
I thought I posted this picture from our living room yesterday, I guess I forgot to press publish… The weekend has been so good! Saturday night turned into a spontaneous wine/drink night at our house with lots of great friends and we listened to old favorite songs, super fun! And yesterday I took the kids to the early Redwings game and had a nice family day.
I just got home from a work out and next stop is my renovation house. I’m actually gonna be a handy woman today and assemble some stuff. The painters are there at the moment and my contractor is working on the kitchen. The house is close to be all done. Can’t wait!! Hopefully we can put up the ‘For Sale’ sign in two weeks!!
Enjoy your day!!
Good evening! I’m sitting here having a cozy night, drinking tea (old favorite cup from Anthropologie) and watching Grammy Awards. So many great performances. Ed Sheeran, come on, so awesome!! I was suppose to be at a surprise birthday party right now (including party bus and karaoke, how fun!!) but no energy for that, even though I don’t like missing parties :)
Otherwise I took Eddie-Bo to hockey in the morning and then I was at a fun jewelry party in the afternoon. Will show you some pictures from that event tomorrow. After that I cooked dinner and baked a birthday cake for our amazing babysitter Lisa!! Happy Birthday Lisa!!
