On the mantel right now – green moss cones, from Fleur Detroit. If you are crafty you can make them yourself with glue and some thread. The gold star is an old favorite from Ikea. The picture -a photo from under our dock on a beautiful winter day many years ago in our Smålandshus. The vase is waiting for some white amaryllis. Candle holder -from Swedish Klong.
Hej! Jag frågade vad dom gillade bäst med skolan, och Adria svarade – To see you Oliver ♥ Hur sött.
Hello! I started this post earlier today but didn’t get done before some friends came over. It’s now Friday night and I’ve been having such a great day. I was a ‘Mystic Reader’ in Eddie-Bo’s class today, so fun to show up as a surprise and read books for his class. I picked up Oliver from school and he had his new girlfriend Adria over for a play date. They are classmates and are soo cute. I asked them what was the best with school, and Adria said – To see you Oliver ♥ How cute.
After that some friends came over for fika and ‘Santas rice pudding’ (that we Swedes eat a lot around Xmas. I cooked mine in the crockpot, so smart!) Later more friends came over for dinner, and I cooked a yummy salmon dish in the oven. Another good thing today – it was sunny!! That was my great Friday!
Happy weekend and thanks for checking in here!
Fresh pictures from our American ‘spooky’ living room! The countdown for Halloween has begin for sure. The boys started to decorate when I was in Sweden, too cute. I’ve just moved around some things inside, but I’ve not touched any of the outdoor decoration ;)
By the look of the magazines you would think we build a Willa Nordic house in sweden (i got those magazines from uncle Mats, that works for that company. Amazing houses!) But we are building a ‘Lågenergihus’ – means ‘Low energy house’
Did you decorate already? It’s also about time to get Halloween costumes. Eddie-Bo wants to be a clown and Oliver wants to be everything. I think he has about twenty options in his head!
I wish you a great weekend!!
My garden peonies are blooming, me love!!! I also love that I finally got rid of the old coffee table. It was thirteen years old with too many scratches plus destroyed from a leaky vase. I decided to move down this black table from our bedroom… so now it’s empty in the bedroom…
Table// Bo Concept Rug// Layered Candle sticks// CB2 Vase// Restoration Hardware Blankets// Hermes and Missoni Sofa// Italmoda (also really old and need a facelift, I’m waiting for a new cover to arrive!)
The most beautiful flower in the world – I think!
You know what?! Someone told me it’s National Rose wine day (thanks Jana for the info, hehe) So time to pour up a glass of chilled rose wine :)
Cheers to you all!!
Sunday in our house and we have no power. No fun!! Cozy for a bit with fireplace and candles. But it’ gonna be chilly soon, it’s freezing outside and the weather is nasty. I’m thankful for great neighbors though, that shares a cord from a generator so we can charge phones and use the coffee machines etc. Also thankful for friends that have power, wifi and dinner ready when you show up uninvited :) Thanks Dev!
Reading time in front of the fire. This book, haha, perfect for kids that love hockey and farts :)
Kram// Xx Cissi
Fresh flowers from Papa Joes!
These long candle sticks are back in the living room, from CB2 and the big blueish/smoke hurricanes are from Restoration Hardware.
Hi from a snowy Birmingham!! It has been snowing a LOT, and yesterday all schools were closed -snow day is what they call it. It surprises me every time. I think that happened one time of all my school years in Sweden :) But, I’m not complaining. Me and the boys had a fun day. We went bowling and went to see the new movie Pete the Rabbit! It was so good and we were all laughing a lot. My favorite James Corden, from Carpool Karaoke, is the voice of Pete :)
Today we had hockey early in the morning, than some of my girlfriends with kiddos came over, and now I’m saying hi to you while the boys are sledding, and tonight we are going out for dinner and drinks!!
From our Swedish home! I love this area with the original fireplace even though it went thru a big facelift and we got great storage with doors and handles that match the kitchen. And very special to me -my grandma’s chair that I got reupholstered (omklädd).
Now over to before:
Hard to see in the picture but the ceiling was very low. Did I keep anything? Yes I did! The tile floor and the inside of the fireplace.
Work in progress.
Details -Brass candle holder and candles from HilkeInDesign and vase from Iems in Jönköping.
I’m so happy we could open up the ceiling, expose the beam (that now is stained/betsad) and add spotlights!
Hope you like to see some before and after pics!
Fireplace and candles are a must every day now these cold days! And fresh flowers never hurt. The house is all clean and organized and I’m extra happy because my brother and nephew are coming into town tomorrow!!
It’s time to pick up Eddie-Bo at school and then a cozy Friday night at home is waiting.
Happy weekend peeps!!
On my wish list Xmas 2017 – Flos Staccia table light… so dreamy! I think it would look amazing on the built in side table in our Swedish house ↓
An update on this house renovation will come tomorrow!
Maybe not because this shiny ottoman got moved up from the lower level, but because we are going to see ED SHEERAN tonight!!! I’m so freaking excited. I’m a big fan!
I’m full of energy and I’m dancing around singing out loud to his music at home at the moment :)
After the kids were in bed tonight I enjoyed some me time right here! Well needed after a weekend with full house!
On the shopping list for our living room -sofa and tv. But for right now I took what we had and made it to a lounge area. The rug, table and the chair to the right belong to the guest house. The grey chair to the right used to be my grandma’s, so that piece feels extra special to me. With some paint and new fabric it looks like new! The two ones to the left are from Newport, that I ordered last summer… and now when unpacked them I realized they’ve sent one in wrong color… another dark grey is on the way!
I’m so in love with this house. Can’t wait until everything is done though!! Waiting is not my thing… hehe… I’ve to show you the exterior soon, then you’ll understand what I’m talking about!
The bed is calling. Wait. Eddie-Bo’s bed is calling. Nope, we still don’t have a big one for me and hubby :) Our to do list is looooong!
