Another favorite spot in the house. Our new patio!!
Normally I know what I want and make fast decisions when I design, but this railing has been taking some time (the one now is just for safety). My final plan is – a black iron railing. Need to order asap!
Have I showed you the tile floor? Anyhow, super happy with the result. It’s still very empty here, but it’s been too hot to use this area except for morning and evenings, and I have not had the inspiration I normally have, I’ll blame that on the heat wave, hehe. Also on my order list tomorrow – outdoor lightning and a awning to this patio.
Details between the kitchen and patio. A mix of soft light wood floor, soft whites drapes and the industrial raw rusty steel with the black sliding door and grey tile, and some dirt :)
Thanks for checking in here my sweet followers. I’m hoping you are having a great summer!
Hello from the patio, now finally with a rug! I could have gone a size bigger, I think it looks best when it covers all the chairs, but I was afraid it would be a stumble hazard where we walk all the time… and when I found this one at Ikea I decided to go for it! It gave the patio a much more cozy feeling.
Table and Hurricane// Restoration Hardware Green vase// West Elm Gold planter// Plum Market and the green leaves are leftovers from the peonies in the living room. Always a good idea to put leftover leaves in a smaller vase instead of throw them away.
A detail I really like on the table.
I just took up the ‘palm’ in the grey planter from the basement – it was not so happy down in the dark so hopefully it will enjoy the patio life as much as I do! Also, I like to move things around to get a new feeling.
Next project here – hang up string lights in the ceiling, that I bought three years ago… We use this space a lot this time if the year, day and night time, and the light we have now are way too bright. I want a softer light and that you will get from string lights!
Time to end this lazy Sunday with the final episode of Homeland, love that show!
When it’s ‘The cinnamon roll day’ in Sweden you have to eat cinnamon rolls! I love to bake, but today I bought some at the Swedish cafe ‘Svenska’ on Maple Street here in Birmingham, super yummy! And the weather is still warm and nice, lovely!!
After a week of full blown interior design mode at our renovation house, we decided to go to our Småland house where everything is already the way we want it, so nice! But I’m trying to make this place more low maintenance for the future… so some pieces like the lounge seating above (from danish CaneLine, 10 years old and I still love them!!) will be moved to our other house. Instead I want something lighter and easier to move around for this space!
I feel that I need moroccan tile as new porch floor. Johan doesn’t feel me at all.
Well, I called my builder so now i’m waiting for an estimate.
Things can always change when he’s out of town :)
Something like this would look so nice!
Now time for some episodes of Orange is the new black.
