My Thanksgiving morning

Igår var det alltså Thanksgiving. Jag njöt hela morgonen hemma, i mysig pyjamas, med skön musik på. Oliver och jag spelade lite spel, jag förlorade bla i Memory några gånger, medan Johan och Eddie-Bo var ute och började bygga upp sargen till vår hockeyrink. Sen gjorde jag köttbullar och sås och Oliver hjälpte till att göra cornbread. Det och Pepparkaks-cheesecake var mitt bidrag till den stora Thanksgiving-middagen.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I spent the morning at home in PJ, with some chill music in the background. Oliver and I played some boardgames, and Johan and Eddie-Bo started to build our outdoor hockey rink. I made Swedish meatballs and gravy sauce and Oliver helped me with the cornbread. That plus a Frozen Ginger Cheesecake were my things I brought to the big Thanksgiving dinner.

Här nedan kommer världens godaste och enklaste recept på ‘mitt’ cornbread! Kommer så väl ihåg min allra första goda Thanksgivingmiddag år 2005, hemma hos Annelie Holmström, och Annika Lidström hade med sig detta cornbread. Härliga minnen, åh saknar er tjejer!! Sedan dess gör jag alltid detta cornbread till Thanksgiving och Jul! (Amerikanskt recept, så vet inte om muffins-mixen finns nån annanstans)

Since we don’t have Thanksgiving in Sweden, I remember my first one when we came over here 2005. We had a delicious girls dinner at Annelie Holmstrom’s house, and Annika Lidstrom brought this yummy cornbread. Fun memories, and oh I miss you girls!! I have every year since then made that cornbread every Thanksgiving and also added that to my Xmas Smorgasbord! Scroll down for the recipe!

Cornbread (jag gjorde dubbel sats till denna form)
115g smör rumstempererat
1 paket jiffy corn muffin mix
1 stor burk majs
1 stor burk ‘creamed’ majs
1 liten burk creme fraiche

Rör ihop alla ingredienser och grädda i ugnen 55min på 175C. Så enkelt och gott!

På eftermiddagen åkte vi hem till våra underbara vänner Jana och Marc och firade Thanskgiving med deras släkt, numer vår American family #thankful! Skulle dela några bilder från det också, men nu strular tekniken. Mer om det imorrn!


Cornbread 
– (I doubled the recipe for my pan in the picture) but original recipe:
1 stick butter (room temperature)
1 box Jiffy corn muffin mix
1 can corn
1 can creamed corn
1 small sour cream

Mix everything, bake for 55min low shelf in the oven 350F. Quick and easy and so good!!

In the afternoon we went to our amazing friends Jana and Marc, to celebrate with their family. Our American family #thankful :) I was gonna share some photos from that but now – technical issues. I’ll make a new try tomorrow!

Thank you Jana and Marc for hosting a great Thanksgiving!! Lots of yummy food and lovely people. Their family has become our ‘American family’ and we’ve been celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas together for three years in a row now. A tradition we’ll break since we are going home to Sweden over Xmas and our American family is a little bit sad about it, as Marc said -How rude!! Haha!!
